ITEDO Software releases new generation of the intelligent viewer
The IsoView product family consists of a group of intelligent viewers that are needed to view and print high-quality vector graphics based on the latest industry standards, such as CGM version 4. This includes integration into interactive electronic manuals (IETM), such as spare parts and sales catalogs, which are distributed via Internet or Intranet or on CD-ROM.
IsoView 4 is the latest version of this worldwide leading viewing technology for vector graphics. It is available as an ActiveX Control for usage within Internet Explorer, in VisualBasic applications, or other environments. It offers a stable viewing environment for your illustrations that can be implemented as integrated components into a number of existing applications.
By supporting high-quality CGM graphics and the use of graphic objects, the IsoView technology offers an indispensable prerequisite for a company-wide solution. With the new functions in version 4, especially the Redlining function, IsoView offers the greatest interactivity between supplier and end-user in electronic documentation.
"With Redlining we have indicated a functionality that allows us to add annotations and comments to an existing illustration, without having to edit the original illustration," explains Dieter Weidenbrueck, CEO and founder of ITEDO Software. "Thus, the end users or editors of an electronic catalog can add their remarks to the illustrations in this catalog."
A big advantage of Redlining is that its administration is done automatically. This means that every time an illustration is opened, IsoView checks whether or not there is relevant Redlining information available and, where applicable, displays it. Furthermore, the Redlining information can be exported. This would allow an end user to provide his remarks via email to the catalog supplier.
Apart from that, IsoView 4 comes with two new options that allow the user to display another view of the currently opened illustration in an additional window. "We got the idea for this from IsoView users who work with wiring diagrams a lot," says Mr. Weidenbrueck.
The so-called "Global View" window always displays the whole illustration, independent from the zooming factor of the main window. The displayed cutout of the main window is marked with a frame. Sometimes, this kind of representation is referred to as "bird's eye view".
The "Magnifier" window displays a magnified cutout of the main window. This cutout is continuously centered on the current mouse position in the main window. As a result, the new views allow you to always keep an overview, even if you zoom into very large graphics.
