A homogenous vector graphics archive is the preferable way to store such information (i.e. all illustrations should be in the same vector format.)
The vector graphic format is the most suitable for electronic processing. If a homogenous vector graphics archive is not available, it has to be set up. Some older systems often use TIFF or another raster format.
However, for quality and cost reasons, the vector format has become increasingly popular. Some vendor-proprietary formats as well as the international standard format CGM (Computer Graphics Metafile) belong to the group of vector formats.
Companies already using IsoDraw for illustration purposes have an optimal prerequisite for an electronic catalog.
